Lucy Bowen McCauley Named
Arlington "Community Hero" for Outreach Programs

Ballston Mall

We're pleased to announce that Lucy Bowen McCauley has been named a 2009 Arlington Community Hero for her work creating outreach programs that bring the joy and beauty of dance to new audiences, including those facing physical challenges. This prestigious honor, now in its 13th year, recognizes people and organizations who make an ongoing difference to the community in Arlington. Congratulations to Lucy! Read the story here.

Join BMD and the Arlington County Board for the awards ceremony on Saturday May 16 at 11:30 A.M. in the Ballston Common Mall.

Washingtonian Magazine’s October 2008 issue names Lucy Bowen McCauley as one of the “... the men and women who have helped transform Washington into one of the nation’s liveliest centers for the performing arts,” calling BMD “... one of the area’s best dance troupes.”
