Lucy Receives Pola Nirenska Award for Achievement in Dance

“The flame of her dancing was a light for Washington’s fine young choreographers. She was their muse. She has since scaled hurdles to make her own dances and direct a company that challenges audiences while serving as a showcase for talent.”

Lucy Bowen McCauley is the recipient of the 2012 Pola Nirenska Award for Achievement in Dance, sponsored by Washington Performing Arts Society in conjunction with an annual awards committee jury, funded by donations from the late Dr. Jan Karski, Ms. Nirenska’s husband. Read more.
