Thank you for your continued support of Bowen McCauley Dance. For 17 years BMD has presented critically acclaimed works that bring together music, dance, and drama. BMD offers the variety and energy that makes seeing dance enjoyable for the entire family. 2012 marks our biggest and most successful year to date. We have seen our programs more than double, our school residencies expand to include Colleges and Universities, and our Dance for PD program become the largest in the nation!
In our current season we are offering more concerts then ever at home and on tour, and we hope you can join us for one or more performances.
Our belief that dance is for everyone spills from the stage into the community in inventive ways:
- Our school residencies have increased to ten schools this year and have branched out to Colleges and Universities such as Salisbury University and Shenandoah University, and pre-professional schools such as The Hotchkiss School – students who study the arts are found to be more successful academically;
- BMD’s regional Dance for PD program is now offered for free five times each week in five different locations, in partnership with the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area; and
- We have taken a leadership role in mentoring artists and executives to advance the field of dance in numerous ways, including presentations on arts management at Universities, audition workshops, and Lucy’s involvement with Dance/USA’s National mentorship program. Through these efforts we are reaching 40,000 individuals each year!
Your support of BMD helps us to bring exciting programming to the stage and enables us to work with the most talented dancers, musicians, and designers. You make it possible for us to leap from the stage in to classrooms, senior centers, libraries, and other community venues to engage with people in meaningful ways.
In this season of giving, we sincerely thank you for sustaining BMD’s artistic vision and the service we provide throughout the region.
Wishinging you all the best this holiday season,
