Alicia Curtis grew up in Maryland, training at Maryland Youth Ballet and Washington Ballet and attending summer programs at ABT NY, Boston Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet. She graduated cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, where she earned a BFA in dance with a musical theater minor. While there, she received the Marymount Manhattan College Gold Key for excellence in dance. Before joining BMD, Ms. Curtis was a member of Roxey Ballet in New Jersey for three seasons, where she danced the principal roles of Sugarplum Fairy in the Nutcracker, Lucy in Dracula, and Carmen in Carmen. Ms. Curtis has also danced in the Olney Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker, staged by Pat Berrend, since its premiere in 2006. Ms. Curtis is enjoying her eighth season performing with Bowen McCauley Dance and is the company’s Rehearsal Director.
