25th and Final Season Performance

September 14 @ 7:00 pm

Join us as we celebrate the final performance of our closing season at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. The evening features music by Composer Erberk Eryilmaz and Nikola Glassl along with the U.S. debut of guest artist Manish Chauhan. All dance pieces will be performed with live music to create a visceral experience with our professional company dancers in a memorable farewell to Season 25 and the organization.

Lucy Bowen McCauley and Turkish Composer Erberk Eryilmaz reunite for their second collaboration with the world premiere of “Insistent Music” a rhythmic and choreographic tour de force with the new composition, written especially for Lucy. The piece features eight Company dancers and five musicians from Hoppa Project that include:  Evie Chen, Samuel Park, Laura Ann Krentzman, and Bree Ahern with Erberk on piano and percussion.

The second world premiere, “Imago” is set to six songs from German/Croatian Composer Nikola Glassl and played live by the Composer’s grandson and pianist Nikola Paskalov with soprano Karin Paludan.

The program will feature a world premiere and the U.S. debut of guest artist Manish Chauhan from Mumbai, India dancing a solo created by Israeli Choreographer Igal Perry of Peridance Center of New York City. The second guest artist is Kardelen Turkish Dance Ensemble of Washington, DC who will feature an authentic traditional folk dance.

The show will open with a reprise of “Exuberant Fanfare,” McCauley’s choreographed dance piece and music by Igor Stravinsky’s “Suite Italienne’ from ‘Pulcinella’ and played live by violinist Leonid Sushansky and pianist Carlos Cesar Rodriguez of the National Chamber Ensemble. The second reprise will feature “Trois Rêves” created during COVID and premiered May 2021 set to Maurice Ravel’s “Gaspard de la Nuit” for piano with musical accompaniment by Paskalov.
