Spring Virtual Performance Opener
March 20 @ 7:30 pm
Bowen McCauley Dance Company returns to the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater for a one-night virtual performance previously planned for March 2020. Join us for a memorable evening with one world premiere, live music, and our fabulous dancers, which demonstrate the resilience of this DC metro area Company of 25 years.
The show will open with a reprise of “Dances of the Yogurt Maker,” Lucy Bowen McCauley and Turkish Composer Erberk Eryilmaz’s first collaboration, commissioned by the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra (March 2019).
After intermission, there will be a world premiere by Lucy set to the music of Composer Maurice Ravel that features a live piano solo by Nikola Paskalov. This new work will feature eight Company dancers and the graceful sweeping movements that only a Ravel composition could deliver.
