BMDCo achieves its mission of sharing the joy of dance with all-ages through its community outreach programs.

Student Dance Residencies

Bowen McCauley Dance offers K-12 students free, weekly dance training and performance opportunities in– and after-school setting. Our programs align with Virginia’s Standards of Learning (SOLs) and classes are taught by BMD’s professional Teaching Artists.

Studio to the Stage!

For the serious dance student, BMD offers arts-integrated workshops and customized multi-day student residencies for all grade levels. Students learn, ballet, jazz, contemporary and modern dance from a professional Teaching Artist. We infuse dance instruction from our company repertoire along with new choreography, guiding students through an authentic warm-up and performance rehearsal process. The program is fun and fast-paced providing dancers with the physical demands of preparing for a performance at the in of each session.

In-School Dance Performances

BMD provides in-school dance performances that include interactive elements to engage students in the performing arts.

Master Classes

Artistic Director and Choreographer, Lucy Bowen McCauley provides pre-professional master classes in a variety of settings. They include University Dance students or professional dance companies in a variety of settings.

Summer Dance Camp at Bullis School

We provide Studio to Stage dance intensive camp for dancers of all abilities through the Bullis Summer Camp programs in Potomac, MD. Each day, participants’ warm-up, take technique class, learn Company choreography and have fun! Our professional Teaching Artists provide Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary dance styles that spark creativity culminating with a final performance.
